It is appropriate to provide some language that the PWA Call Center (whether it be through the phone, website/email, or post) is the right place to direct service requests for the following types of services:

  • Graffiti removal (on public property)*
  • Illegal dumping removal (on public property)*
  • Street sweeping

*The PWA Call Center sometimes receives calls for these services on private property, which we accept but then refer to the Community and Economic Development Agency.

The Call Center can be reached through direct phone contact at (510) 615-5566, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8am to 4:30pm. The Agency does respond to emergency requests after the normal business day.

The public should still call
(510) 615-5566, then press the # sign. The call is transferred to Fire Dispatch who will then contact the PWA stand-by supervisor for assistance. For those callers who want to report routine matters during non-business hours, again call (510) 615-5566 and wait for the tone to leave your message. Voicemail messages are retrieved regularly through-out the business day. The call taker will contact you within 24 hours with your tracking request number.

Citizens may also report infrastructure issues by visiting the Agency’s website at www.oaklandpw.com click on the link to the PWA Call Center. As is the case with our voicemail messages, email and online requests are monitored regularly throughout the day and are generally responded to within 24 hours or sooner.

And last but certainly not least, individuals may report their concerns via the United States postal system. The address to the Call Center at 7101 Edgewater Drive, Building Two, Oakland, CA 94621. Facsimile is also welcomed and our fax number is (510) 515-5909.
